As Prairie View A&M University celebrates 150 years, D9 Operation $150 for 150 invites members of PVAMU's National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations to each raise $150,000 in honor of the University that shaped generations of their members. Each goal is led by PVAMU's own alumni chapters — but every member of a participating organization, PVAMU alumni or not, is invited to help their organization reach it

A Challenge Born from Legacy
This initiative was envisioned by Major General Antoinette "Toni" Gant, a 1994 PVAMU alumna, Distinguished Military Graduate, and initiate of the Zeta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. It grew out of conversations with fellow Divine Nine Prairie View alumni who wanted to do something meaningful to commemorate this historic milestone.
They introduced D9 Operation $150K for 150 as a way to align the Divine Nine's enduring legacy of scholarship, service, and leadership with Prairie View A&M University's Sesquicentennial celebration. The initiative invites alumni and members of each D9 organization to help reach a collective goal of $1.35M ($150K each) in honor of PVAMU's 150 years of excellence and history.
What Your Gift Builds
A gift of $150,000 carries real, measurable weight at PVAMU. The University's average need-based scholarship award for incoming first-year students is $8,156 — meaning a single organization reaching its goal could fund need-based scholarships for approximately 18 incoming Panthers. If all nine Divine Nine organizations reach their individual goals, D9 Operation $150K for 150 will generate $1.35 million toward scholarships and student success initiatives across the University.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this challenge open to Divine Nine members who are not PVAMU alumni?
While this is led by PVAMU's own D9 alumni, all donations under the umbrella of your favorite D9 are welcomed to assist them in their efforts to reach $150K.
Any Divine Nine member is welcome to give toward a participating organization's goal, whether or not that member attended PVAMU. Every gift helps support Prairie View A&M University students and contributes to the success of the D9 Operation $150K for 150 initiative.
Where do the funds go?
Gifts made through the D9 Operation $150K for 150 initiative are directed to the scholarship or designated fund selected by the participating Divine Nine organization. All funds are administered by the Prairie View A&M University Foundation and are used to support student success, scholarships, academic programs, and other University priorities in accordance with the purpose of the designated fund.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and donors will receive a gift receipt for tax purposes.
How does my organization join the challenge?
Any organization interested in participating can contact the Division of University Advancement at development@pvamu.edu.
What happens at the end of the campaign?
In June 2027, each participating organization will present its total to President Dr. Tomikia P. LeGrande at a collective check presentation
