PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (June 11, 2025) – Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is embarking on its next phase of partnership and philanthropic strategy following the recent execution of a new affiliation agreement that redesigns the relationship between the University and the Prairie View A&M (PVAM) Foundation. Established in 2009 to support the University, the PVAM Foundation’s revised partnership with PVAMU marks a significant progression in their relationship, representing a unified and strategic approach to fundraising, donor and alumni engagement, and institutional support.

The PVAM Foundation, within the framework of the Division of University Advancement, will now serve as the sole affiliated entity to receive and manage all charitable contributions in support of the University. Moving forward, all charitable gifts to the University – whether from individual donors, corporations, other foundations, or alumni groups- will be funneled through the PVAM Foundation. This streamlined structure enhances the donor experience and ensures that every contribution is properly processed, acknowledged, given appropriate tax credit and aligned with the University’s long-term goals and strategic priorities.
“This partnership marks a bold step forward in redefining how Prairie View A&M University engages all of our stakeholders and cultivates lasting impact,” said President Dr. Tomikia P. LeGrande. This integrated approach elevates the donor experience, maximizes the impact of every gift, and accelerates our path toward becoming a model 21st-century institution of excellence, innovation, and service as outlined in our strategic plan – Journey to Eminence: 2035.”
In conjunction with PVAMU’s strategic plan, the revised agreement also signifies a pivotal shift in how philanthropic efforts will be led and aligned with university priorities. The redesigned partnership will enhance the overall donor experience, making giving more donor-centric and impactful. Donors will benefit from improved stewardship, streamlined communication, and greater clarity about how their contributions drive meaningful change across the University.
“This partnership is about more than fundraising,” said Jeff Shaw, CFRE, Vice President for University Advancement. It’s about building a sustainable future for Prairie View A&M University—together.” Added Shaw, “Many supporters give through various channels, but those gifts are not always tracked individually. “This partnership will help us capture the full scope of support and recognize every donor’s contribution.”

The collaboration represents a bold step forward in elevating Prairie View A&M University’s fundraising infrastructure and strengthening its long-term financial sustainability. By aligning operations and strategies, PVAMU is better positioned to invest in student success, support faculty excellence, and expand critical programs that will shape its future.
“This is a pivotal moment for our Foundation and the University,” said Dr. Donetta Goodall, Chair of the PVAMF Board. “Our shared commitment to excellence and impact will ensure that every gift, large or small, fuels the aspirations of our students and the vision of the University. This partnership amplifies our collective ability to make a difference.”
