Jeff Shaw is an accomplished higher education advancement leader with over two decades of experience driving institutional success through strategic fundraising, alumni engagement, and brand elevation. He currently serves as Vice President for University Advancement at Prairie View A&M University, where he leads the university’s comprehensive advancement strategy to amplify PVAMU’s identity, broaden awareness of its achievements, and secure transformational philanthropic support.
In this role, Jeff oversees the Offices of Development, Alumni Relations, and University Marketing and Communications. He also serves as the primary liaison to the Prairie View A&M Foundation Board of Trustees, aligning stakeholder engagement efforts with the university’s mission and long-term strategic priorities.
Previously, Jeff served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Harris-Stowe State University, where he doubled overall fundraising in his first year, led a dramatic expansion of the university’s endowment, and revitalized the Harris-Stowe Foundation Board. Prior to that, he held key leadership roles at Texas Southern University, the United Negro College Fund, and Florida A&M University. Across these institutions, he is known for transforming advancement operations, building high-performing teams, securing principal-level gifts, and increasing alumni giving and engagement.
A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), Jeff also holds a Certified Non-Profit Executive designation from Rice University, a B.A. in Psychology from Florida State University, and an A.S. in Network Administration from Keiser University. He is a sought-after speaker on advancement strategies, stewardship, and diversity in fundraising, and has presented for CASE, AFP, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
